Today, the concept of ninjas is highly popular and quite obvious to all. But this wasn’t the case a decade and a half ago. Back when Naruto was published as a manga first and later released as an anime, it took a majority of readers and viewers by surprise. It introduced to them the concept of ninjas. At least to a vast majority, who weren’t involved with the segment prior to this release. People all over the world found the terms ninjas and shinobi to be highly intriguing. The totally different world of ninjas was a huge attraction for both existing readers and new readers alike.

Also, Naruto had elements of multiple genres like superpowers, drama, fiction and fantasy. At the same time, it was a shounen manga. Shounen titles basically aim at teenagers and young adults. In these titles, the main protagonist undergoes various phases of life and their entire story is depicted to the readers. So the readers got to see Naruto become the Hokage from a class clown. This also ensured that the series was indeed a very long one. And so after the 700 chapters of epic ninja battles and heart-warming emotional dramas, the series concluded after continuing in the top currently publishing manga list for around 15 years. It still continues to be one of the most popular manga titles ever along with One Piece, Bleach and Dragon Ball.

The anime series based on the manga gained similar fame and is nearing its conclusion now. There have been a handful of movie releases over the period as well. Later, a spin off sequel was released for Naruto in the form of a mini-series Naruto Gaiden: The Seventh Hokage. And finally, a direct sequel has been released. Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is the highly anticipated sequel to the original ninja series. It is currently publishing monthly, under the supervision of the original creator Masashi Kishimoto. It takes another shot at the ways of the ninja, this time the protagonist being Boruto, son of Naruto. While there aren’t many details about where the story is headed, one thing is clear. The series isn’t going to be a long one. The story continues after the events of the movie Boruto: Naruto the Movie, with Boruto becoming the disciple of Susuke, Naruto’s best friend and rival.Other main characters include Sarada Uchiha, daughter of Sasuke.
